Dr. Nelson Poon.
BDS. (Lond) M.Clin.Dent. (Prosthodontics), L.D.S. R.C.S.(Eng).
Nelson has been a Clinical Examiner and a Clinical Lecturer at King’s College Dental Institute, University of London since 2004, where he also teaches Prosthodontology on their Masters Degree programme.
He qualified at King’s College, London. He gained his Masters Degree in the specialist field of Prosthodontics from Guy’s, King’s and St.Thomas’ Dental Institute. This field of dentistry is of particular relevance to modern cosmetic treatment of broken down or missing teeth.
He set up the liaison between the Respiratory Medicine Department of King’s College Hospital and the Dental Institute at King’s College London (Denmark Hill site) to treat those patients suffering from snoring problems who could be treated with dental appliances. He lectures in this field at King’s College London.
Nelson is a keen cook and spends many happy hours of his spare time in his kitchen, indulging his hobby.

Dr. Helen Poon.
BDS. (Lond) L.D.S. R.C.S.(Eng)
Helen qualified at King’s College, London and was subsequently selected for the most competitively sought after staff post in the Departments of Oral Surgery and Paedodontics (children's dentistry). During her time there she gained valuable experience in treating referred complex oral surgical and paedodontic cases that were beyond the scope of general practitioners.
She has undertaken postgraduate training in North America and Switzerland, particularly in the fields of Prosthodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry. These disciplines are relevant to the cosmetic treatment of missing teeth and smile makeovers.
She has a very relaxed and friendly manner, which helps to put even the most anxious people at their ease.
Helen enjoys reading and swimming, as well as making time to do Yoga and Pilates.

Dr. Ben Poon.
BDS King's College London
Ben qualified from King ’s College London, where he was awarded the Baldwin Scholarship for the highest clinical score in his year.
He is passionate about the specialty of Endodontics and looks forward to furthering his interest in this field. His patients have found him very approachable, gentle and always with a ready smile.
Ben ’s interests include archery, the martial art Wing Chun as well as cooking.

Dr. Chirag Patel
BDS Lond 2006
Dr Chirag Patel grew up in Kent and graduated from King's college London in 2006 and has been practicing in Central London since then with a high demand patient base.
Chirag provides the highest level of care with kindness and has a particular interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He has completed courses in Advanced Concepts in Cosmetic Dentistry at the California Centre for Advanced Dental Studies and takes great joy in transforming the smiles of his patients.
His demeanour is friendly, informal and relaxed which really works well for even the most anxious of patients.
Chirag is honoured to have studied implant dentistry under the acclaimed Dr Hilt Tatum at the Tatum Institute, London.
In addition to his wide and varied skillset, Chirag has accumulated a depth of knowledge in general and restorative dentistry which he continually updates on.
He has an artistic eye for dentistry with a special interest in cosmetic treatments and transforming smiles. His cases regularly combine Invisalign with implants and even facial aesthetics to secure beautifully natural results.
Chirag is committed to long term care and as clinical lead will be an invaluable asset to Calverley Dental Practice.

Hygienist:
Poppy Walsh
Poppy qualified as a hygienist at King's College, London in 2004. She has a keen interest in long term prevention of gum disease. In 2014 she was a finalist in the national "hygienist of the year" award. This included a nomination for best treatment of nervous patients. She has postgraduate training in, amongst other things, teaching, anaesthetics and tooth whitening.
Outside of work she is a volunteer community first responder with South East Coast ambulance service. She has a qualifications in first aid and life support.
As a keen horsewoman, Poppy has achieved level 3 in her Parelli natural horsemanship training too. In her spare time she will either be horse riding or dog walking over the fields and woods close to where she lives in Kent.

Dental Nurses:
Tracey
Tracey joined The Calverley Dental Practice just before we relocated to our present site. She has a wide experience of working within different types of practices during her time working with a dental nurse agency and we are very pleased that she felt that ours was the type of friendly, happy practice that she could work at on a permanent basis.
Her passions include horse riding, taking her two pugs on long walks and the theatre.

Becki
Becki has completed her nursing training with us and she also takes on the role of receptionist on Fridays.
She loves animals and keeps guinea pigs and she enjoys Yoga and reading.

Naomi
Naomi has joined the practice as a trainee dental nurse and she assists Poppy on some days.
She enjoys mountain biking with her young family .

Vicky
Vicky has joined our Reception team just prior to our re-location. Her cheerful and helpful personality has been much appreciated by the team as well as by our patients.
In her spare time, Vicky enjoys expressing her musicality by singing in her band which performs at weddings and Christmas parties.
